Tory MP James Duddridge, who has been leading a campaign to try and get rid of Mr Bercow, shared a quote he made before taking office on June 22, 2009.

It said: “I will serve no longer than two full Parliaments and in any event, no more than nine years.”

But Sally said that on Friday, the ninth anniversary of her husband taking office: “I look forward to a school visit, lunch with a friend, son’s football tournament and my mum coming to stay for the weekend.

“I haven’t started packing yet. Sorry to disappoint .”

And Linking to his campaign to push Mr Bercow to step down as previously promised, she said: “4 RTs for Dudd campaign so far.

“Just keeping eye out for fake news as last time the Telegraph reported *150* MPs were out to remove John - but it turned out to be FIVE.”

It is one of a number of eye-catching tweets the 48-year-old has made since returning to Twitter this week.

She stopped posting in 2013 after agreeing to pay damages to Lord McAlpine after a tweet in the wake of the former Conservative Party treasurer being wrongly implicated in allegations of historical sex abuse.

The only tweet left up on her account from her previous time on social media reads: “I have apologised sincerely to Lord McAlpine in court - I hope others have learned tweeting can inflict real harm on people's lives.”

She returned at the end of last week, having updated her profile to say she was “avowedly partisan and political”, adding: “My tweets, my views.”

And as well as mocking Mr Duddridge, she also backed the Tory rebels who want to force Theresa May’ to give them more control in the Brexit negotiations by altering her EU withdrawal bill.

Quoting an interview with the PM where she called on MPs not to tie her hand with Brussels, Mrs Bercow wrote: This is dangerous, anti-democratic nonsense.

“Parliament MUST be able to tie the hands of Government. Now all we need is MPs willing to do so!”

Mrs Bercow also thanked a pro-EU campaign for giving her the “Bollocks to Brexit” stickers which were spotted on her car parked in Parliament earlier this year.

And she also took aim at Mrs May’s announcement that extra funding for the NHS would come from stopping giving money to the EU, saying this was “spinning unicorns”.

She added: “The ‘Brexit dividend’ does not exist.”

Last night Sally also mocked Donald Trump, saying she was “off to bed” to start reading the book co-authored by former US president Bill Clinton, called “The President is Missing”.

Mrs Bercow added: “If only .”
