MYSTERY surrounds why Kim Jong-un’s sister suddenly stepped in to swap a pen - oddly embossed with Donald Trump's signature - which had been provided to sign the historic Singapore nuke deal.

Footage shows the bizarre episode unfold, starting with one of the dictator’s minders - who was wearing white gloves - picking up the ballpoint and examining it before Kim Yo-jong appears beside her brother to hand him her own one.

The secretive state is known to equip its spies with covert weapons disguised as pens after a would-be assassin was caught trying to murder a defector in South Korea.

One shown to a CNN reporter fired bullets while another contained a poison needle.

And of course the tyrant even killed his own brother, Kim Jong Nam, using a nerve agent.

But Kim’s sister could also be fearful about American spooks collecting her brother's fingerprints, DNA or a sample of his sweat to check on his health.

Seconds before the signing one of Kim's bodyguards was seen examining the pen... or was there more going on here than meets the eye?

The signing pen given to Kim was clearly provided by Donald as it has his scrawly signature on it, but why did he choose to supply it?

Earlier it emerged that Kim had shipped in his own Portaloo and the only plausible explanation was that he feared his poop would be scooped up and examined.

While the tyrant - who only recently has ventured from his hermit kingdom - seemed relaxed during his trip, there was evidence of intense paranoia among the North Korean delegation.

For one he sent two decoy planes to the historic meeting with Donald Trump.

When he arrived he was surrounded by a squad of infamous bodyguards who were spotted jogging alongside the dictator's car and who would also form a human shield around him when he ventured out of his hotel for a night out.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US president Donald Trump meet at landmark summit in Singapore
Weapon disguised as pen found on would-be North Korean assassin is explained by expert

The US President himself is known to be paranoid about being assassinated, with Trump's pal Piers Morgan claiming how he has a trusted member of his entourage buy all his water for him to thwart would-be assassins

When Kim sent Trump an enormous letter before the summit, the President had the secret service test it before he read it.

Perhaps it was Donald’s own paranoia that led to him to want to provide the pens at the Singapore summit - something that was betrayed by his signature being embossed on them.

This could of course be power-play and spotting this Kim’s sister could have decided on Kim’s behalf that he would not being playing ball.
