Donald Trump power poses while ‘mischievous’ Kim Jong-un was more chilled at Singapore Summit body language expert reveals

The world leaders wore very different gestures at their historic Singapore summit, claims expert Darren Stanton

DONALD Trump tried to look strong while Kim Jong-un was "mischievous and relaxed" at their historic meeting.

The world leaders cut very different figures, according to our body language expert, as they shook hands in front of the world's media in Singapore.

Our expert Darren Stanton analysed the footage of the extraordinary meeting.

He noted that Kim arrived in a flash Mercedes Maybach - the kind of car he is not supposed to be driving under international sanctions.

Darren added: "To have access or  possession of a such a opulent vehicle, so it seems a little mischievous from the outset."

But Donald had his own car based power play showing the North Korean dictator around his presidential "Beast" in a game of automotive one-upmanship.

Trump is renowned for his overt shows of power, including his bone-crusher handshake.

Arriving looking stern and serious, Trump showed off the power-grab gestures we saw earlier this week at the G7 summit.

Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump shake hands in historic meeting at Singapore summit

Darren said: "Upon meeting, the two men shake hands. Trump gripped his hand, placing another hand on his upper arm, which is a power gesture used to denote he is the stronger man.

"As they broke off from the initial handshake they turn to face the cameras.

"But Trump cannot help himself, and puts his hand on Kim’s back and and ushers him off again, which is taking ownership of the space."

Darren said Trump being tactile, and not afraid to touch Kim is a way of saying "I’m so confident in who I am , I can enter your personal space."

While Trump looked the more solemn and serious, Kim was surprisingly smiley, and relaxed.

Darren says: "When they were sat talking , we see Trump sitting with his legs spread open and his hand in what we call a reversed steeple gesture, a classic baseline gesture for Trump saying I’m more powerful than you.

"By comparison, Kim was just sat normally and is the more relaxed man, appearing as though he has nothing to prove.

"But Trump reverted to type used all the old classic tried and tested tells and gestures used to say to the worlds media " I am the stronger man."

He adds: We have seen a few smiles from Kim whereas Trump looks very serious and is keen to convey to the world 'I’m here to win'.
