WEDDING Crashers star Vince Vaughn is seen beaming in his mugshot following a drink driving arrest in California.
The Hollywood funny man, 48, was detained by police in Manhattan Beach at a routine sobriety checkpoint at 1am local time on Sunday.
Vaughn was charged with driving while intoxicated and with resisting arrest, and is believed to have had a passenger in the vehicle at the time.
A police station employee later confirmed that the star had been released from custody.
His wife Kyla Weber was seen leaving the station with a police escort with Vaughn believed to be hiding in the back.
She entered the police station via a back entrance to avoid prying eyes.
According to the Manhattan Beach police department's Facebook page, the sobriety checkpoint is operational from 8pm on Saturday night until 3am Sunday morning.
The post reads: "The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety, increase the awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired driving and unlicensed driving."
It is understood the actor was stopped at 1am local time in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was charged with a DWI, while his passenger was also arrested and charged with public intoxication.
Reports suggest Vaughn was released on a $5,000 bail.
The actor is best known for his roles in comedies like Dodgeball and Wedding Crashers but has landed more dramatic roles in recent years such as the drill sergeant in the Oscar-winning Hacksaw Ridge.
Vaughn forged a successful career as a comedic actor after the 1996 cult hit Swingers in which he starred alongside real-life pal Jon Favreau, who wrote the film's screenplay.
He married Weber in 2010 and the couple have two children together.
