DUMBEST GCSE QUESTION EVER?

English language students asked ‘What is a selfie?’ in GCSE exam

GCSE pupils were asked "what is a selfie" on the first question of their English language exam today

BEMUSED GCSE pupils turned over their English language papers today to be asked "what is a selfie" on the first question.

Puzzled pupils said they had to "pinch themselves" and "thought they were dreaming" when they started the exam.

One pupil tweeted: “I can’t believe I just did a whole exam about selfies.”

Another said: “Welcome to today’s age, where the first question on an exam is now ‘what is a selfie’”.

Other pupils said the question made them “cringe” and accused the exam board of trying to be “hip and modern”.

Another tweeted: “The fact the English GCSE consisted of information on ‘selfies’ gives me no hope for the human race.”

The question appeared on the WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) English Language GCSE paper.

When asked about the bizarre question by Sun Online, a spokesman for the exam board refused to comment.

They said: “Thank you for your enquiry. WJEC Eduqas does not comment on individual questions within our question papers and therefore cannot provide further information."
