Theresa May hosts Britain’s biggest business chiefs at No10 to soothe fears over Brexit’s impact on commerce
The guests included Tesco boss Dave Lewis and head of BT Group Gavin Patterson
THERESA May last night tried to soothe the Brexit fears of Britain’s biggest bosses in a private meeting at No10.
Tesco chief Dave Lewis and BT Group boss Gavin Patterson were among the guests.
It came as the PM agreed a date for the clash over her EU Withdrawal Bill. A 12-hour Commons session will be held next Tuesday when Tory whips will bid to ensure MPs reject all 15 amendments slapped on the Bill by pro-EU Lords.
Labour and Remainers said the PM’s bid to force all the votes into one day was treating Parliament with “contempt”.
