London Bridge memorial procession – start time, route and road closures for one-year anniversary of the terror attack
SOUTHWARK Council have marked the first anniversary of the London Bridge terror attack on Sunday with a memorial procession.
Here's what route the procession took, what will be involved and what roads will be affected.
When is the memorial procession?
The procession took place this Sunday, June 3, 2018.
A private commemoration service was held at Southwark Cathedral at 3pm before the procession.
This will then be followed by a minute’s silence.
What is the procession route?
The march started at Southwark Cathedral and finish at Southwark Needle which is across the street from the Barrow Boy and the Banker pub - near where the attack started.
The Cathedral is located in Borough Market, where the group of extremists slashed innocent victims.
Eight people lost their lives on June 3, 2017, while the three attackers were shot dead by police.
What roads will be closed during the procession?
The following roads will be closed from 3.30pm until 5pm GMT:
- Borough High Street northbound from Marshalsea Street,
- Southwark Street eastbound from Southwark Bridge Road,
- Tooley Street westbound and
- Bishopsgate southbound at London Wall.
