What happened to baby Ah’Kiell Walker?

Three-month-old baby Ah'Kiell Walker died after his parents shook and dunked him in water.

The little boy was found naked and freezing cold at the family's Gloucester home.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he suffered four broken ribs and a fractured shoulder in the weeks before his death.

The baby's death was caused by a lack of oxygen to his brain through Walker shaking him and submerging him in water, potentially in the couple's bath.

Little Ah'Kiell died at 17 weeks old on July 31, 2016.

Water may also have been poured down Ah'Kiell's throat through bottles that Walker had altered to increase the flow.

It is believed he was force fed water to get rid of his constipation.

What did his parents say?

Alistair Walker, 27, tried to blame paramedics for the fatal brain injury his son had suffered in July 2016.

He has consistently denied any involvement in the baby's death.

On June 1, 2018, a jury found him guilty of manslaughter and child cruelty,  and he was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Judge Sir John Royce described Walker at Bristol Crown Court as a "controlling and manipulative bully" after the jury saw through his lies and convicted him.

Ah'Kiell's mother, Hannah Henry, 22, was given a four year sentence after she was found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child and two years concurrent for cruelty to a child.

The judge said the young woman had shown an "obsession" with Walker, despite him being controlling and violent.

Henry told friends she wanted to end her relationship with Walker by the time Ah'Kiell was nine or 10 weeks old.

In a text message to her mother, she wrote: "He's so horrible to Ah'Kiell", adding that she "couldn't handle Ah'Kiell crying".

What did the parents search on Google?

Police found that Walker had searched for "shaken baby syndrome", "can I squeeze my baby", "internal bleeding due to trauma" and "baby broken ribs" on his phone in June and July.

One search, on June 14, the dad asked: "Can babies feel pain?", followed by "baby burst liver".

The court heard the baby had not "pooed for a month" but had not sought medical advice.
