Brent stabbing sees man, 43, held for murder after woman, 28, ‘in prime of life’ knifed to death in North West London
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found stabbed to death in North West London overnight.
The 43-year-old man is being quizzed by cops after the 28-year-old woman was found at a Brent home in the early hours of this morning.
Paramedics had desperately tried to save the woman's life but she passed away about 2.44am.
Scotland Yard has now launched a murder inquiry - confirming the pair were known to each other.
It was just one of several horrific violent incidents in Brent overnight, with a shooting also unfolding just hours before.
Superintendent Tim Alexander, from the borough of Brent, said he was devastated the young woman had been killed "in the prime of her life".
He said: "However, I would like to confirm that we have a man in his 40s in custody and that we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.
"I can also confirm that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and that the crime happened inside a private residential property."
Police are still questioning the suspect at a north London police station.
He remains in custody at this time.
Police said they were not looking for anyone else.
