DONALD Trump boasted of having a 'great meeting' with reality star Kim Kardashian who is demanding the release of a drug dealer great-gran.
The beaming US President posted a picture from his meeting with the reality star in the White house yesterday.
The pair discussed the potential release of 63-year-old Alice Marie Johnson, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1997 on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges despite it being her first offence.
After Wednesday's meeting, Kardashian West, who wore an all-black pant suit for the conversation, said she was "optimistic" about Ms Johnson's release.
The socialite had posed for a photograph in the Oval Office after the meeting with Trump, with the unsmiling reality star standing next to a grinning Mr Trump seated at his desk.
Writing on Twitter afterwards, Trump said: "Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing."
Reality star Kardashian West also posted on social media to thank the president for his time.
The 37-year-old said: "I would like to thank President Trump for his time this afternoon. It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offence.
"We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson’s future and hopeful that she —and so many like her—will get a second chance at life."
It had been unclear whether the socialite would have the chance to sit down with Mr Trump while she was in Washington, until he posted the snap last night.
Kardashian West, who has previously revealed she had voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US election, has known Trump for years after appearing on his NBC show The Apprentice in 2010.
Her Trump-supporting husband Kanye — among the first celebs to congratulate the new President after his 2016 election win — didn't attend.
The telly star arrived at the White House just after 4.30pm for a meeting with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is overseeing the administration's push to overhaul the nation's prison system.
She has been urging the president to pardon Alice Marie Johnson, 63, who has spent more than two decades behind bars and is not eligible for parole.
Attorney Brittany K. Barnett, a member of Johnson's legal team, said Kardashian West had hoped to discuss the issue with Trump directly.
, Ms Barnett said: "Today's her birthday, so no greater gift than freedom on her birthday."
Kardashian West had earlier dedicated the day to Alice Marie Johnson, writing on social media: "Happy Birthday Alice Marie Johnson. Today is for you."
She was seen posing for photos in front of the West Wing before entering.
Ms Barnett said after the meeting that she had consulted with those who had attended and said it "seemed to go well."
"It is now in President Trump's hands to decide whether to save Alice Johnson's life," Barnett said.
Kim was first made aware of the great-grandmother's case on Twitter and has been campaigning to have her pardoned.
She said in an interview last month: "I think that she really deserves a second chance at life... I'll do whatever it takes to get her out."
Johnson was convicted in 1996 on eight criminal counts related to a Memphis-based cocaine trafficking operation involving more than a dozen people.
The 1994 indictment describes dozens of deliveries and drug transactions, many involving Johnson.

The grandmother was sentenced to life in prison in 1997, and appellate judges and the U.S. Supreme Court have rejected her appeals.
Court records show she has a motion pending for a reduction in her sentence, but federal prosecutors are opposed, saying in a court filing that the sentence is in accord with federal guidelines, based on the large quantity of drugs involved.
The US Attorney's Office in Memphis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
