This optical illusion has gone viral over Twitter and has some people seriously perplexed

AN image of a man and a woman hugging over an office chair has baffled the internet as to whose body is whose - and who is wearing the high heels.

The mind-melting picture is the latest viral post to perplex the internet, after the now infamous blue and black dress and the Yanny and Laurel audio recording.

The image, shared on Twitter by CJ Fentroy, the pair are sharing a hug.

But the angle of their bodies and heads has left many confused over who is sitting and who is standing.

In the post, @Boom_likean808 says: "At first I thought he was wearing the heels."

The image quickly picked up attention as some struggled to work it out and accumulated over 40,000 retweets and 96,000 likes.

One person could not work it out
