How this ‘Darth Vader’ mask can boost your sex drive and performance — but only if you’re a woman

A DARTH Vader-style mask could boost the sex lives of women snorers, but not men, a new study has found.

Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) affects 1.5million people in the UK and can reduce libido in both sexes.

Now a study has found women sufferers who used the unsexy looking device were better in bed after using it for four hours a night over three years.

Under continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, a plastic mask is fitted over the nose and mouth with a tube linked to a machine.

The mask blows air into the back of the throat to ease OSA.

Women wearing it four hours a night found their sexual problems went from moderate to slight.

The study followed 182 patients with OSA prescribed the therapy for three years from 2007.

OSA reduces sex drive and intimacy as it can cause erectile dysfunction in men, and groin pain and vaginal dryness in women.

It is the most prevalent sleep disorder, and rates are rising alarmingly among both sexes because of the obesity crisis.

Dr Sebastian Jara, of the University of Washington, in Seattle, said: “Long-term sexual quality of life may be improved in women with CPAP, but not in men.”
