Ghost hunter who ventured into abandoned tunnels ‘where murder victims were found’ spotted ‘spooky figure’ on his camera
The terrifying 'spectre' was pictured at Nevada's Lake Mead - which is known as America's deadliest national park
A GHOST hunter who ventured into abandoned tunnels where murder victims have reportedly been dumped was left terrified when he caught an unexplained apparition on camera.
Xavier Hunter braved a night in the eerie and supposedly haunted passageways inside 'America's deadliest national park' at Lake Mead, Nevada.
The 'sceptical' paranormal investigator chose the spooky spot after hearing tales of hikers regularly spotting "ghosts".
Xavier claims he asked the 'ghost' to tell him her name through his "spirit box" and then a heard haunting female voice respond with what he said sounds like 'Carole'.
While there, Xavier took a photo of himself stood in front of the tunnels, only for a 'robed' figure to appear stood behind him - despite the investigator insisting he was alone.
The 1.5-million-acre park landed the morbid moniker of 'deadliest park' after statistics showed 275 people lost their lives there between 2006 and 2016.
Xavier, who goes by the name Cryptid Hunter for his investigations, said: "Over the past decade the park has had a higher number of homicides than any other national park service.
"So it comes as no surprise that many hikers have heard and seen apparitions and spirits of those who have become trapped between this world and the next.
"After doing some research and hearing several stories about the ghostly apparitions, I decided to visit the area completely alone and spend most of the night in order to do a paranormal investigation.
"I narrowed it down to the old train tunnels that are now being used as a hikers' trail. It is in this area where people claim the dead bodies have been found and where the apparition of woman has been seen wandering at night.
"Some people claim she can be heard humming or singing as frightened hikers pass underneath the train tunnels to reach the otherside."
Xavier eventually fled the tunnels, however he remains open minded about what happened.
Xavier said: "As far as the figure I don't know what it could be I suppose you can claim it to be another hiker but the way it's standing and the clothing that appears to be a robe is what has me questioning the image."
Towards the end of his footage, while stood in the pitch black with only his night vision camera to see, Xavier confesses to being scared.
Xavier tells the camera: "I'm not going to lie, I am a little bit nervous - I'm here completely alone.
"A lot of people ask me why I do it and honestly I don't know. I think I like the thrill.
"But at the same time, I need to be careful because, like I mentioned earlier, people have been found murdered here and bodies have been found here, murdered. I don't want to be the next victim."
