Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe ‘besotted’ with Polish penpal aged 17
Sutcliffe speaks to the teenager on the phone and hopes she will eventually travel to the UK and visit him in prison
YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe is “besotted” with a Polish penpal aged 17.
Sutcliffe 71, speaks to the teenager, called Victoria, on the phone and hopes she will eventually travel to the UK and visit him in jail.
She also sent him chocolates, but wardens confiscated them.
A source said: “He talks about her all the time, as if he is besotted.
"Some of the lads in there are a bit jealous.
"But others have spoken about how inappropriate it is that he is allowed to speak to her and swap letters.
“I don’t know what would possess her to contact one of Britain’s most notorious killers.”
Sutcliffe, who killed 13 women in the 1970s, has sent Victoria forms to visit him at HMP Frankland, County Durham.
He has scores of other visitors including a funeral director, former nun and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Sutcliffe, who is going blind, is furious after more than 100 stamps were stolen from his cell.
The Ministry of Justice declined to comment.
