JILTED AT THE ALTAR

Meghan Markle’s sister-in-law Tracy Dooley and nephews dropped from ITV Royal Wedding coverage

GOOD Morning Britain has apparently dropped Meghan Markle’s estranged family from their Royal Wedding coverage.

The bride’s sister-in-law Tracy Dooley and her kids, including Tyler, had jetted into London ahead of the wedding of the year – despite not being invited to the big day.

GMB was widely reported to have hired the family – including Tracy, who has not spoken to Meghan in 20 years – as special TV correspondents for its coverage of Saturday’s ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

But ITV today confirmed that the estranged family members of the bride would not be part of the rolling coverage of the wedding.

What we know so far…

A spokesman told The Sun Online: “The Dooleys will not be contributing to Good Morning Britain’s coverage of the Royal wedding.”

But he would not say if the family members had been previously invited to contribute on the day.

ITV did not correct reports GMB had hired the family when they appeared across the media this week.

Tracy, who had been married to Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr, yesterday shared photos on social media showing her taking in the sites around London.

The snaps included shots of London Eye and Royal Albert Hall.

Tracy’s son Tyler, 25, who runs a legal cannabis farm in Oregon, had yesterday said the family were “excited” about the big day.

The young man, who has created a royal wedding strain of the drug called Markle’s Sparkle, has previously said he would be happy to show the happy couple around Oregon.

Meghan’s family have become regulars in the media in the lead up to the Royal Wedding, with her half-sister Samantha Markle particularly vocal.

Half-sister Samantha Markle was called a vulture by Piers Morgan for cashing in on her sister

The decision for family members not to join the rolling coverage of the wedding comes after Piers Morgan this week blasted Samantha Markle, calling her a “vulture”.

Samantha appeared on the show after her dad Thomas pulled out of walking his daughter Meghan down the aisle as it was revealed he had staged photographs with the paparazzi.

The 53-year-old claimed the media was to blame for her dad’s decision, saying the 73-year-old had been put under huge amounts of stress in the lead up to the big day at St George’s Chapel.

Speaking with Piers Morgan and co-host Susanna Reid, Samantha said: “I think he had the right to defend himself and get to the point where he wanted to say no – they have an ethical obligation to allow me to be portrayed as I am, living a healthy lifestyle and not be caught in unflattering situations as media vultures had done.”

But Piers immediately jumped in, saying: “There’s no bigger media vulture with this wedding than you, is there Ms Markle?”

He pointed out that the sisters had not spoken for years, challenging her to reveal how much she had made in speaking to the press about her soon-to-be royal sister.

It comes after Meghan today confirmed her father would not be at the wedding, saying that he needed to “focus on his health” after undergoing heart surgery.

In an extraordinary statement that appears to be aimed at her family, who have criticised her and Kensington Palace officials for not supporting her dad ahead of the big day, Meghan said: “I’ve always cared for my father”.

It means her dad will not walk her down the aisle, with mum Doria Ragland instead expected to step into the role at the last minute to save the day.
