ANGLERS fought a 40-minute battle to catch this 9ft shark in the North Sea.

Thought to be a porbeagle, a relative of the feared Great White, the 17st beast was reeled in off Whitby, North Yorks.

Steve Watson, 68, son Andy, 33, and Matt Ward, 32, of West Yorks, set it free again after the epic struggle.
