A FORMER naval cadet has been detained in Russia after confessing to stabbing a wealthy female student at least 70 times after becoming jealous of her wealthy lifestyle.
Ilya Metlitsky, 20, posted a selfie of himself with her mutilated body to his ex-girlfriend with the chilling threat: "You’re next."
Scared, she called the police, and he was rapidly located and detained in St Petersburg.
Metlitsky is believed to have been "obsessed" with Anastasia Kazantseva, 20, and was "jealous" of her affluent lifestyle.
Her friends denied reports he was her boyfriend, but he attended her recent birthday party where she wore a crown.
After a row over money she had lent him, he knifed her in the head, neck, arms, and legs.
After she died, he continued stabbing her, mutilating her body, said police.
There were at least 70 stab wounds on her corpse.
A day after the killing, he was brought by police to the crime scene for a reenactment.
