Royal security squad has new orders – to protect Meghan and Harry’s wedding cake
Officers are now regularly reporting to the East London bakery to ensure no one makes off with the lemon and elderflower creation
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake has been given its own royal protection squad.
Officers have to report daily to the East London bakery where the lemon and elderflower creation is being made.
The same checks were carried out on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eight-tier masterpiece in 2011.

The move is to ensure the design — and even the estimated £20,000 cake itself — won’t be stolen. It also deters would-be poisoners.
A source said: “Meghan and Harry’s cake has become part of the daily duties of the special protection teams that guard the pair.
“The bakery is grateful for visible security.”
