Man jumps over McDonald’s counter to steal promotional Monopoly vouchers
A BRAZEN thief jumped a counter at a McDonald's to steal Monopoly vouchers before sprinting away.
In the footage, the man can be seen grabbing the roll of vouchers before bolting from the London branch.
The annual competition run by the fast food chain from March 21 to May 1 allows customers to receive a Double or Triple Game Piece which consists of two or three stickers, some of which are an online game sticker while others are an instant win like free food or a drink.
Big prizes from the game also include £100K in cash, a Mini Cooper, a trip to Universal Florida, an XBox One games console amongst other items.
While it's unclear when it was filmed, the shameless thief jumps the counter with his hood pulled up and grabs the roll - just feet away from McDonald's staff.
He then hops back over - dressed in a dark top, grey tracksuit, trainers and carrying a backpack - and sprints through the restaurant towards the door as his friend recording the video laughs in the background and customers look on.
At the end of the clip, the stolen tickets are then boldly showed off.
A McDonald's spokesperson told The Sun Online: “We take criminal activity like this very seriously.
"All of our Monopoly game pieces are traceable and as such any prizes won by unlawful means will not be redeemable.”
The clip has emerged just a day after The Sun Online reported the shocking moment a McDonald's worker slapped a customer at a Camberwell branch after the female customer flicked her in the head 'for being rude'.
In the clip, the female customer gets into an argument with the staff when her fast food order takes too long – ending in the McDonald’s employee hitting her several times and pulling her by the hair.
A spokesperson for McDonald's told The Sun Online: “We take matters like this extremely seriously and do not tolerate violence in any form, either from customers or our crew.
"We are investigating this incident as a matter of urgency.”
