Schoolgirl Lexie, 10, is the winner of our Royal Wedding tea towel design competition — and you could win one
SCHOOLGIRL Lexie Errington’s drawing will become a piece of Royal Wedding memorabilia, after she won our Royal Tea Towel competition.
The talented ten-year-old created this eye-catching design of Prince Harry and bride-to-be Meghan Markle in their wedding attire after being inspired by their African adventures.
Lexie got busy with pencils and a few sequins after her proud nan, Shirley Latchford, 64, showed her the competition in The Sun on Sunday.
Delighted Lexie, from Longfield in Kent, said: “I can’t stop smiling. I drew an African sunset because I know they love Africa. I used sequins on the crown so it looked like jewels.
“My nan knows I love Harry and Meghan but I never thought I would win.”
Lexie’s artwork is now being turned into a tea towel by Virgin Atlantic and The Sun on Sunday. There will be 1,000 of them to commemorate the wedding on May 19.
Virgin Atlantic will give away 500 to customers flying out of the UK on the day Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, tie the knot. Another 500 will be won by Sun on Sunday readers.
Expert Tracy Martin, 46, said: “This tea towel will definitely become a collectable. The recipients will be lucky to get one.”
