INCREDIBLE photos reveal the "secret" meeting between the newly-appointed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Kim Jong-un.
President Donald Trump sent the former CIA Director to Pyongyang at Easter ahead of his upcoming trip to North Korea to discuss denuclearisation.
Pompeo can be seen shaking hands and smiling with the dictator in pictures released shortly after his new position was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted: “Great to have Secretary Pompeo confirmed.
“He will do an excellent job helping @POTUS lead our efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. (photos from previously confirmed Easter weekend trip).”
The meeting with Kim had not been scheduled, and wasn’t revealed until yesterday.
President Trump told reporters that the two “spoke” and had “a great meeting,” though it’s unclear what was discussed.
He said: “It was very, very secret — very, very quiet."
A day after being sworn in, Pompeo landed in Brussels for talks with key allies in Europe on heightened Russian aggression and ways to strengthen the NATO military alliance.
As he left Washington on Thursday, the State Department said the former Army officer - who was a Republican congressman - would also visit Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel during the weekend.
Last month, Trump ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in a huge upheaval to his national security team and replaced him with Pompeo.

Sharing the news in a Twitter post, he thanked Rex Tillerson for his service and added that Gina Haspel would be the new Director of the CIA - the first woman to be picked for the post.
Pompeo's trip comes as Jong-un made a history on Friday after crossing the border into South Korea for the first time.
He became the first North Korean leader to enter the South since the end of the Korean War in 1953.
