Meghan Markle looks radiant in blue as Royals gather for Queen’s star-studded 92nd birthday concert
MEGHAN Markle dazzled at tonight's Queen's birthday concert when she appeared alongside Prince Harry with both wearing matching blue.
The soon-to-be bride and Harry were among the first to arrive at the star-studded event set to celebrate Her Majesty's 92nd birthday.
A catalogue of stars including Shaggy, Sting, Sir Tom Jones, Craig David and Kylie Minogue are taking to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in central London.
The Queen and members of the royal family are guests of honour at the celebration, which is being billed as The Queen's Birthday Party.
To mark his new role as president of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust Prince Harry gave a speech.
Paying tribute to his grandmother, he said: "As we celebrate your 92nd birthday this evening and in recognition of your incredible life of service, I am delighted to say that the Queen's Commonwealth Trust has now been launched to support young leaders around the Commonwealth.
"This organisation, in your name, will provide a platform for those working to make a difference in their communities across 53 countries. Happy Birthday Your Majesty."
The trust works with young leaders across the commonwealth to provide a platform for change-makers.
It aims to find and fund young people to help them solves local problems in education, health, the environment and sport.
Trustees of the charity include Samantha Cohen, a former assistant private secretary to the Queen, Leslie Ferrar, who used to be Prince Charles' treasurer, and Linklaters lawyer Christopher Coombe.
Earlier today gun salutes were heard across London, the UK, and British overseas territories in celebration of the occasion.
The concert tonight marks the Queen's actual birthday, while her official birthday is on Saturday June 9.
Organisers said the concert, coming at the end of the week when the UK hosted 53 countries for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, would have a strong Commonwealth flavour.
It was agreed earlier this week that Prince Charles would succeed the Queen as the head of the Commonwealth, which she has lead since she took the throne in 1952.
The Royal Commonwealth Society, which has the Queen as patron and is 150 years old this year, put the event together.
Also in the Royal Box were Prince Charles, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, Princes Anne, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and her fiance Jack Brooksbank.
Popstars Shawn Mendes and Kylie Minogue also took to the stage tonight to perform for the Queen.
The concert was broadcast live on BBC One and BBC Radio 2 tonight.
Meanwhile, earlier today Meghan and Prince Harry joined the Australian Prime Minister at a London reception ahead of the Invictus Games in Sydney later this year.
Prince Harry and his bride-to-be met servicemen and women from both Britain and Australia, some of whom have previously competed in the international sporting event.
The couple will learnt more about preparations for this year's games at the reception hosted by Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy at Australia House.
More than 500 competitors - made up of sick and injured military and veterans - from 18 nations are expected to compete at the Invictus Games in Sydney between October 20 and 27.
It is expected Harry, who is patron of the Invictus Games Foundation which oversees the delivery of the tournament, will travel to Australia for the event with Ms Markle, who will by then be his wife.
When Toronto hosted the Paralympic-style event last year the former Suits star, who at the time was living and working in the city, attended the opening and closing ceremonies and visited competitors with Harry.
Meghan wore a £300 green dress featuring white flowers by British designers Self-Portrait that has already sold out.
She teamed it with a stylish Roland Mouret handbag costing £795, although a smaller one is £100 cheaper.
The event coincided with Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday.
Turnbull later met with the Prime Minister Theresa May at Chequers as the Aussie leader kicked off a ten day overseas tour.

The Invictus Games was specifically set up as an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
Both serving and veterans can take part.
Sydney will be the fourth venue to host the event after London in 2014, Orlando in 2016 and Toronto last year.
