THE doctor who was driving the BMW that Ant ploughed into said her nine-year-old son screamed: “I’m dying, Mummy.”

Dementia specialist Dr Audrey Ng also said she was so shaken by the incident she has not yet returned to work.

In a victim impact statement she told how her young lad, not named in court, had been sitting in the back seat.

She said: “I immediately looked over — and my son was saying to me ‘I’m dying, Mummy, I’m dying.’

“Although he was physically fine, he was clearly in shock. He said the black Mini was coming round the corner like a rocket.”

Dr Ng added: “As there was no movement from the driver of the black Mini I thought he might have died.

“Then the driver of the black Mini exited the vehicle. I could see the car’s airbags had deployed.”

Dr Ng said she was stunned by Ant’s recklessness.

She added: “I’m horrified that someone could drive so dangerously.

“As a result of the collision I have not been able to return to work. It has greatly affected my private and work life.”

There were bizarre scenes outside Ant’s hearing yesterday when live TV cameras captured a crash.

As the scrum of journalists, photographers and cameras outside Wimbledon magistrates’ court caused traffic to slow to a crawl, a car ploughed into the back of a cleaning van.

The smash happened moments before Ant was due to emerge from court to give a statement.

ANT’S STATEMENT

“I just want to say that I’m truly sorry.

“Higher standards are expected of me.

“I expect them of myself. I let myself down.

“I let a lot of people down, and for that I am truly sorry.

“I’d like to apologise to everybody involved in the crash and I am just thankful that nobody was seriously hurt in this.”

It took place in full view of seven uniformed police officers on court duty.

They opted to let the drivers sort the mess out themselves.

BBC journalist Alison Freeman told viewers: “Excuse me, sorry, some cars have had a bit of a crash behind me there.”

RICH ‘CLOBBERED’

ANT’S massive drink-drive fine came under rules that tie penalties to the weekly income of offending motorists.

The presenter faced the embarrassment of having his £130,000 weekly earnings revealed in court as the judge calculated how much he would be forced to cough up.

Drivers are ordered to pay 150 per cent of their weekly income — but Ant’s fine was reduced because of his guilty plea.

There was previously a £5,000 maximum — but that has been changed to allow for sky-high fines for the wealthy.

Footballer Yaya Toure was fined £54,000 in 2016 after claiming he accidentally drank a brandy and coke at a party.

The Man City star pleaded guilty and was banned for 18 months.

A judge said it was “inconceivable” he did not know he had been drinking.
