THIS is the moment three cars had a crash on live TV as Ant McPartlin emerged from his drink-drive sentencing today.

As a BBC journalist waited outside for the TV star to give a statement, the three cars shunted into each other.

Reporter Alison Freeman can be seen stopping her report after she hears a bang behind her before she apologises to viewers.

She says: "Excuse me sorry, just some cars have had a bit of a crash behind us there."

A van and 4X4 appear to be undamaged after the crash outside Wimbledon Magistrates' Court, but the third car was left with a dented bumper.

It came as Saturday Night Takeaway host Ant admitted a single charge of drink-driving today and was fined £86,000.

He was also handed a 20 month driving ban after being more than twice the drink-drive limit when he ploughed into two cars in Richmond, south west London on March 18.

McPartlin said he was "truly sorry for what happened" as he made a brief statement outside court this afternoon.

The court heard how the "difficulty and distress" of his marriage breakdown to make up artist Lisa Armstrong had contributed to his "brief relapse".

His lawyer Liam Walker said: "[He] hopes that in time he can be forgiven by the many people he has let down terribly".

He added: "Anthony McPartlin is sorry and is doing everything he can to ensure this never happens again."

McPartlin has now scrapped all work commitments for the “foreseeable future” and returned to rehab after receiving treatment for prescription drug and alcohol addiction last summer.
