John Arne Riise being probed by cops after Liverpool legend ‘raided £53k from his eight-year-old daughter’s account’
The footballer's ex-wife claims he made ten withdrawals from his daughter's savings at the start of last year
REDS legend John Arne Riise is being probed by cops after allegedly raiding £53k from his eight-year-old daughter's bank account.
A civil court in Sunnmore, Norway, heard how the Liverpool ace repeatedly dipped into the savings of young Emma, whose name and date of birth are tattooed on his arm.
Norwegian John, 37, and the little girl's mum Maria Elvegard divorced in 2012 shortly after he bedded model Katie Price.
London-based Maria - the child's official guardian - claimed he made ten withdrawals from the Nordlund account around the start of 2017 in amounts up to £14,000.
Police are probing him for "embezzlement", for which he could be jailed.
The retired footballer has now been ordered to pay 483,000 krona (around £40,000 at the time of writing) back to his daughter after a bitter spat with his ex-wife.
He will also pay his ex's legal costs, amounting to a whopping £53,000.
Riise told the judge he withdrew the cash so her model mother could not get her hands on it - and intended to give it back when Emma turned 18.
But the judge heard he had no documents to support his case and ordered the money to be repaid with interest.
John - who also has a son Patrick, six, with Maria - wed his third wife Louise Angelica in 2014.
