Mum mortified when daughter reveals ‘my mum’s life wouldn’t be worth living without wine’ in hilarious homework confession
Jacqui Loxley, 48 from Essex, was looking through her daughter’s homework book about what the Romans brought to England when she spotted her daughter's mortifying claims
A MUM was left mortified after she was shown her daughter's homework at parent's evening - and discovered her cheeky child claimed "mum's life wouldn’t be worth living without wine".
Jacqui Loxley, 48 from Braintree, Essex, was at a teacher’s conference when she was looking through her daughter’s homework book only to find a piece of work about what the Romans brought to England.
When reading the assignment, Jacqui was embarrassed to find her daughter Rose had said their greatest contribution had been wine - and claimed that she has to open a bottle of wine for her mum every day.
Rose, aged nine, also wrote that her mum’s life ‘would not be worth living’ without wine, much to her mother’s dismay.
However despite the initial embarrassment, Jacqui claims that by the end of the conference she was laughing with Rosie’s teacher about the hilarious homework confession.
Jacqui, an admin assistant, said: “I had Rose's termly learning conference and was sitting in a room full of parents looking through her books and work.
“She had recently been studying the Romans so I was reading all her independent work.
“When I was reading the work I just started laughing and immediately took a photo wanting to show my husband.
“Rose's teacher had been away on long-term sick so hadn't seen it, she laughed when I pointed it out to her!”
However despite Rose’s claims, Jacqui confirms that she does not drink a bottle of wine a day and that her daughter is not enslaved to open them.
She added: “Rose doesn’t open a bottle of wine for me every day, so I don’t know where she got that idea from!
“And despite the initial embarrassment from Rose’s comments about my love of wine, I can’t help but see the funny side now.
“Everyone who has seen the photo of her work has been in hysterics – everyone has found it hilarious and has definitely seen the funny side.
“It’s definitely a piece of work of Rose’s that I won’t be forgetting any time soon!”
And Jacqui isn't the only mum to be embarrassed by her child's homework.
Seven-year-old Lucie Stevenson from Kilmarnock in Scotland drew of picture of her mum, Margaret, hungover in bed.
Lucie had sketched her mum lying in a bed, with a sick bucket to her side, after she had gone for a girls' night out with other school mums in November last year.
Margaret, 39, recalls drinking a few too many "lethal" glasses of prosecco leaving her with a terrible hangover.
Lucie wrote next to her drawing: "On Sunday my mummy got sick. She [had] horrible juices to drink and she needs to rest".
Underneath her teacher commented: "Oh I hope she feels better soon!"
