Navratil, shipping manager at the Halcyon gallery in London’s Mayfair, had a six-month relationship with the woman and they lived together.

But she moved out after he took her passport and he started texting pictures suggesting he was following her, Wimbledon magistrates heard. Prosecutor Amanda McCabe said: “The defendant also sent pictures of himself wearing clothing she left at his home.”

Before they split the woman had booked a holiday in Australia and at the time Navratil said he would jet out after a couple of weeks to be with her.

When she went to Heathrow Airport for her flight she emerged from the ladies toilet to find Navratil standing there with a backpack.

She warned him not to follow her to Australia but after her arrival he suddenly appeared as she was walking to the beach in Melbourne.

Navratil, who admits stalking, said it was a coincidence. She told police: “He’s ruined my life.”
Navratil will be sentenced later but was warned he faces jail.
