One is said to have happened on the Caribbean island of St Barts, where Mr Matthews owns the £5,000-a-night Eden Rock Hotel. The second allegedly took place in Paris.

Mr Matthews has vehemently denied the allegations and has not been charged with any offence.

In an interview with , the father of Mr Matthews' alleged victim - now 36 but 15 at the time of the first alleged offence - said his daughter is "deeply upset" by attempts to cast her as a "fantasist."

Her father told the paper: "The idea that she is doing this for compensation, or for any other reason than a desire for justice, is completely wrong.

"The family are furious about what is coming out from the Matthews side since she came forward as she is being made out to be a fantasist and having made it all up. What could possibly be her motivation for revenge or embarrassing the Matthews?" he said.

Mr Matthews' accuser first told confided in her parents about the alleged attacks three years ago, which her father said left them "incredibly shocked."

It's claimed she told her parents they didn't know what she had "been going through all these years" and that the alleged incidents have caused her "immense emotional strain" and she's been "unable to form any lasting relationships."

Her father added: "We are all behind her and believe her. She had the courage to speak out – and she did, and by doing so she feels she can give herself some sense of closure."

Following the accusations by French prosecutors, The Sun revealed Mr Matthews could face a possible police probe in the UK after a second woman accused him of rape.
