Who was Tanesha Melbourne and how old was she?

Tenesha Melbourne was a 17-year-old schoolgirl from Tottenham, North London.

A pupil at Haringey Sixth form College, she's been been described by pals as a "humble, good girl" who was well known in Tottenham.

Tenesha also worked as a mentor, helping troubled teens and kids as young as ten at Bruce Grove Youth Centre.

She was gunned down in Chalgrove Road in Tottenham shortly before 9.30pm on Easter Monday, apparently a tragic casualty of a gang war.

On April 6 a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to a London police station and remains in custody.

What happened on the day of the shooting?

Tanesha died in her mum's arms after being shot in a drive-by attack as she was "chilling out" with friends.

Just 25 minutes after she was gunned down, and only three miles away, a 16-year-boy was shot in a separate incident in Walthamstow.

He later died to become the 49th victim of London's deadly street violence epidemic.

Her mum, Sharon, laid flowers at the scene of the shooting.

A card read: "To my baby Nesha. I'm gonna miss you so much, you're always gonna be with me everywhere I go."

It was signed: "Love Mummy."
