the sun says

Our cops need to focus on hard evidence, justice and targeting REAL criminals to make Britain safer

We need to stop the bloodbath on our streets and end politically correct policing

Tide of death

THE tsunami of gang violence claiming young lives in London must be halted.

The police, with the terror threat so high, have a case for more manpower.

They cannot control drug gangs, let alone instigate a zero-tolerance “broken windows” policy which, as detailed opposite, turned New York around.

Yes, we need harsher sentences for gang leaders and a crackdown on social media sites glamorising life as a foot-soldier. But we are also reaping the whirlwind of politically correct policing.

The radical cut in stop-and-search, once a vital tool against knife possession, was a disaster. The woeful Bernard Hogan-Howe at the Met, and the even worse Alison Saunders at the CPS, were obsessed by political agendas instead of reducing crime and saving lives.

That accounts for the fixation on fake paedophile allegations and imagined offences by journalists. For crime rising while innocent young men are hauled up on bogus rape charges and cops reportedly hide evidence exonerating suspects.

It must change. New Met chief Cressida Dick has made a decent start. But the next director of public prosecutions cannot just be a time-server at the CPS.

He or she must focus on hard evidence, justice, the targeting of REAL criminals and making Britain safer.

Calamity Corb

EVEN Jeremy Corbyn’s Momentum fanclub now admit Labour is riven with Jew-hating racism. Corbyn seems still in denial.

Momentum chief Jon Lansman ludicrously argues it is “unconscious bias” which is somehow less offensive than “right-wing” hate. But he concedes the party needs “education and training”.

At least he does not pretend it has been cooked up by the Press, or Tories, or Labour moderates to attack Corbyn.

Not so Jezza. He spends Passover with a far-left anti-Israel Jewish group which argues it’s all a cynical stunt. In doing so he sticks two fingers up at the mainstream Jews he needs to engage with.

We know this vain man loves basking in the warm adulation of admirers. Even so, this was another hideous misjudgement.

Thuggish Left

NOTHING is more sinister about the hard-Left than their romanticising of violence in a cause they agree with. Supporting IRA murderers is just one example.

Witness too the fan worship of Winnie Mandela. She was once a brave campaigner for the noblest of goals. Later she deployed thugs to kill her perceived enemies, some victims just black kids.

She was convicted of kidnapping and assault. She backed “necklacing” — the horrific executions by fire, glorified in a tweet by Labour MP Naz Shah.

To the left, the ends justify murderous means. Imagine them in power here.

Where would they stop?
