POLICE arrested two men on suspicion of planning terrorism after raids on two homes.
Neighbours said they feared bombs had gone off after hearing loud bangs as officers forced their way into the houses early on Tuesday.
One said: “I heard a very loud bang. I looked outside and there were armed police crouched down and more at the door and a load of smoke in the street.”
Police later confirmed the noise had been “part of the method of entry to gain access.”

The raids were on two houses 300 yards apart in Dewsbury, West Yorks.
The houses are a few streets from the former home of suicide bomber Talha Asmal, who blew himself up in Iraq in 2015.
Mohammad Sidique Khan, one of the 7/7 bombers, also lived in the town.
