Woman who claims she was raped as a teen by Pippa Middleton’s father-in-law told police it left her ‘shocked and disgusted’
THE woman who claims she was raped as a teen by Pippa Middleton’s father-in-law told police it left her “shocked and disgusted”.
She travelled to Paris to give evidence which led to David Matthews being arrested and charged with the attacks.
The multi-millionaire, 74, is said to have raped her on the Caribbean island of St Barts — where he owns a £5,000-a-night hotel — in 1998 and in Paris a year later.
Sources said the woman told cops from the French Brigade for the Protection of Minors she felt “self-loathing” after the alleged attacks.
Matthews, who strongly denies the claims, was stopped at Paris Orly airport on Tuesday and charged with raping a minor by a magistrate on Thursday.
The woman claims Matthews, dad of Pippa’s husband James, acted inappropriately to her when she was 15.
She is said to have told cops: “Afterwards I felt like I was to blame.
"I developed feelings of self-loathing and felt worthless.”
A source added: “She does not want to sue anyone for money.”
Matthews runs the luxury Eden Rock Hotel on St Barts with wife Jane, 70.
It is a regular with the Middletons, including Pippa’s sister Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
A spokesman said: “David Matthews categorically denies the allegation and unequivocally contests the untrue and scandalous accusation".
