Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson held a secret summit with I’m a Celeb winner Georgia Toffolo in a bid to boost his popularity
DEFENCE Secretary Gavin Williamson held a secret summit with I’m a Celeb winner Georgia Toffolo in a bid to boost his popularity, The Sun can reveal.
The ambitious Cabinet minister raised eyebrows amongst MPs by asking the reality TV starlet to his Ministry of Defence HQ.
He issued the invitation after being charmed by her when she was star guest at the Tories famous Black and White ball last month.
An MoD source said Ms Toffolo was “interested to know more about the work of the Armed Forces”.
The source said: “They had a good chat about the crucial role troops play across the world keeping Brits safe as well as tackling wildlife crime and delivering humanitarian aid to the world’s most vulnerable at times of crisis.”
It’s not the first time the Tory supporter has met up with Tory leadership favourites - she has previously taken selfies with leading Eurosceptic Jacob Rees-Mogg - who she described as a “sex god”.
And she also told how she “fancied the pants off” posh Richmond MP Zac Goldsmith.
At the Black and White Ball in February she told how Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson suggested she should run as an MP - and joked he’d run her campaign for her.
The Toff and Boris’ dad Stanley Johnson hit it off in the jungle are now firm friends.
Northern MP Mr Williamson was catapulted into the spotlight after being promoted out of the blue from chief whip to replace Sir Michael Fallon in November last year.
He has been described as a classic “political opportunist” has one of the most active Instagram feeds of any Cabinet minister - including a snap with Ms Toffolo taken at the ball.
