THIS is the terrifying moment a moped bandit robs former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan of his £127,000 watch at gunpoint.

The black-clad rider pulls alongside the ex-soccer chief's Maserati in traffic and points the handgun at his head through an open window.

Simon, 50 - who has put up a £5,000 reward for information - tried for 20 seconds to resist, but eventually handed over the Franck Muller timepiece.

The footage was taken from a number 60 double decker that pulled up behind the chilling ambush in Croydon, south London last week.

Other crystal clear CCTV captured the Suzuki scooter tailing the black soft-top supercar for several hundred yards.

The ex-mobile phones tycoon turned talkSPORT host was driving his 80-year-old father home from hospital where he had been for five weeks after suffering heart failure and pneumonia.

Simon said: "The gunman was ordering 'give me your f****** watch you c***' or I will shoot your f****** face off' and I was telling him he wasn't having it, saying 'no'.

"It seemed to last for a minute while he held the handgun to my head. Meanwhile my father was trying to get out of the car to have a pop back at the gunman.

"I was trying to work out where a bullet would hit me, it would have been in the face.

"But at the same time I was instinctively trying to position my body to protect my father.

"It was a silver gun with a grey handle. It could have been a Baretta or a Magnum, or a BB hangun for all I knew.

"But what I did know was that I was a split second from being killed. I tried to defy the robber for as long as I could, but handing over the watch was perhaps the wisest decision.

"It had a blue face with red numerals and I bought it to celebrate Palace getting promoted to the Premier League in 2004, and had great sentimental value.

"But ultimately it is a material object that can be replaced, a life cannot be.

"I have put up a reward for information leading to the arrest of this piece of trash, he needs to be caught before he strikes again."

Detectives have yet to trace the scooter but believe Simon was being stalked for a number of days before the hit.
