Terminally ill man who has just months to live ‘beaten to a pulp by gang of teenage thugs’

A TERMINALLY ill man says he was left barely able to walk after a gang of teenage thugs beat him to a pulp.

Mark Walker, 48, who has only months to live, was left needing medical attention after being repeatedly punched and kicked by a callous gang as he went to get a Chinese takeaway in Middlesbrough on Friday night.

Mark claims he was set upon by six youths just yards from his home as be went to his local takeaway and left with a swollen eye as well as cuts and bruises all over his face.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but has now been discharged.

His niece Jodie Moore said Mark is terminally ill due to severe health problems.

She told : “Mark can barely walk.

“He is really poorly.

“What if anything happens to him this week?”

She added criminal behaviour on the estate is out of control: “Kids are ruling the town.

“They aren’t even kids they are animals.

“It’s the same kids doing all these attacks.

“What’s it going to take, someone murdered before something is done?”

Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team confirmed they are aware of “rumours circulating” about an incident.

In a post on Facebook, the team said: “We would like to clarify that we are aware of this incident, have made contact with the victim’s family and inquiries are ongoing.”

This latest attack comes despite heightened police patrols prompted by escalating trouble on local estates.
