Peter Sutcliffe has been left totally blind after injection to improve his sight was ‘bodged’
Yorkshire Ripper, 71, needs a white stick to stop him stumbling around prison after the treatment to clear blurriness caused by diabetes went wrong
YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has gone blind and needs a white stick to stop himself stumbling around prison.
Sutcliffe, 71, lost the sight in his left eye in 1997 in an attack by a fellow inmate.
But now the vision in his right eye has gone after an injection supposed to clear the blurriness caused by diabetes went wrong.
He is furious with doctors, telling a friend: “They have f***** up my eyesight. They bodged it and I can’t see at all.
“I can’t watch the TV or read letters and emails. I made a cuppa but missed the cup with the milk — it’s awful.”
Serial killer Sutcliffe now needs a jail “buddy” to help him get around Frankland Prison, Co Durham, in a wheelchair and will be applying for a white stick.
