The father of the 18-year-old who died after an alleged attack by ten girls said the delay meant they could not speak to Mariam as she'd gone into a coma
THE father of a student who died after an attack by ten girls has claimed police did not begin their investigation until two days after the assault.
Mohamed Moustafa, 50, said the delay meant they could not speak to Mariam, 18, as she had gone into a coma.
Mariam, who was born with half a heart, collapsed on a bus in Nottingham after the February 20 attack. She died last Wednesday.
Mohamed, originally from Egypt, said: “There is something wrong when an attack is witnessed and nobody rings police.
“I rang them the next day and the day after that they sent an officer to speak to us.”
Cops say they have arrested a 17- year-old on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH.
