LUCKY Justin Whiting bought a photo on eBay for £7 — then discovered it was a snap of outlaw Jesse James said to be worth £2million.

The seller described it only as a “young man in dark suit standing by a chair” but Justin thought he recognised James from a picture in a book he had on US gunmen.

This photo of Jesse James as a 14-year-old was bought on eBay for £7 but could actually be worth £2m

He bought the 3½ by 2½ins Victorian tintype and had it assessed.

US forensics expert Kent Gibson — who authenticated a picture of Billy the Kid that sold for £3.5million — used facial recognition technology to match it to an existing photo of James.

He believes it is of the bandit aged 14 in 1862.

Justin, 45, of Spalding, Lincs, who cannot work due to back problems, said:  “I feel like I’ve won the lottery.

“This is going to change my life.”
