Man buys £7 photo on eBay then discovers it’s of outlaw Jesse James and worth £2million
The seller described it only as a “young man in dark suit standing by a chair” but Justin thought he recognised James from a picture in a book he had on US gunmen
LUCKY Justin Whiting bought a photo on eBay for £7 — then discovered it was a snap of outlaw Jesse James said to be worth £2million.
The seller described it only as a “young man in dark suit standing by a chair” but Justin thought he recognised James from a picture in a book he had on US gunmen.
He bought the 3½ by 2½ins Victorian tintype and had it assessed.
US forensics expert Kent Gibson — who authenticated a picture of Billy the Kid that sold for £3.5million — used facial recognition technology to match it to an existing photo of James.
