Woman, 24, arrested on suspicion of murder after 53-year-old woman found dead at Cheadle home

A 24-YEAR-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 53-year-old woman.

Emergency services rushed to Sun Street in Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, where they discovered the tragic woman's body at around 9am this morning.

In a statement, Staffordshire Police said: "We have arrested a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of murder in connection with an incident at Sun Street, Cheadle.

"We received a call this morning reporting an incident at an address in the street.

"Unfortunately, a 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The arrested woman is in custody and enquiries are on-going."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the scene just after 9am.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 9.12am to Sun Street in Cheadle to reports of a patient in cardiac arrest.

"We sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a first responder to the scene.

"It became apparent nothing could be done to save the patient and she was pronounced dead at the scene."
