‘Fifth Beatle’ George Martin’s widow terrified as raiders burst into her Oxfordshire mansion

THE widow of “Fifth Beatle” Sir George Martin was terrified as raiders burst into her mansion.
Lady Judy Martin, 89, had been watching TV late at night when two masked men smashed their way in through the conservatory.
She fled upstairs and rang police, who swooped on the £5million home in the Oxfordshire village of Coleshill.
The crooks had already escaped empty-handed.
A source said: “Lady Martin was shaken up but unharmed. The scum got away.”
One local said: “I heard they were dressed in black and had scarves around their faces. It’s pretty scary.”
Other villagers said they had seen a suspicious white car.
The nearby Radnor Arms pub was also raided. It is not known if the break-ins are linked.
Record producer Sir George died two years ago aged 90.
He was dubbed the unsung hero behind the Beatles’ success.
He and Lady Martin moved into the gated Grade II-listed property in 1977.
Police said: “Nothing was stolen. No arrests have yet been made.”
A woman who answered the intercom at the home yesterday refused to comment.
