Adam Johnson’s sister Faye mourns ‘hard times’ of Mother’s Day without paedo footballer but looks forward to being ‘all back together’ as he enters last year in jail
FOOTBALLER Adam Johnson's sister has lamented the "hard times" without her brother - counting down the "one more year" until her family will be reunited.
Faye Johnson, who has stood by her brother after he was imprisoned over sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, posted a Mother's Day message to her mum, noting the absence of her jailed brother.
Writing on Twitter, Faye shared a photograph of her mum Sonia, saying: "Happy mother’s day to the most amazing Mam and grandma!
"Hard times without Adam but one more year and we will be all back together."
Johnson was jailed for six years in March 2016, meaning that he is currently due for release in March 2019.
She also shared a photograph of her "best friend", her son, with a person believed to be a family member writing: "Looks so much like ur Adam xxx".
Faye has previously taken her son to visit Adam Johnson behind bars, taking the youngster to HMP Moorland in Doncaster - which houses mostly sex offenders.
But Faye's gushing Mother's Day post didn't attract much sympathy, with one person writing: "100.% deserves were he is see if someone did that to your kid and you wouldnt be saying the same if it of been my daughter youd would of been visiting his grave not a room full of other dirty sex cases".
Johnson was found guilty in March 2016 after a jury found he had engaged in sexual activity with the schoolgirl in his Range Rover after meeting the Sunderland fan outside the Stadium of Light and swapping seedy text messages.
At the time of his arrest he was earning £60,000 a week playing for the Black Cats.
