Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti was asked on the Today show this morning by host Savannah Guthrie: “Did she have a sexual relationship with the President?”

To which the lawyer replied: “Yes.”

Asked about the existence of “photos, images, text messages, or documents” that prove the affair, Avenatti said it was for his client to comment.

But he did indicate that he knew whether or not they existed, meaning there could potentially be proof of the liaison.

Avenatti also explained why Daniels’ had decided to sue, blaming Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen and others for spreading “misinformation”.

He added: “She believes it’s important that the public learn the truth about what happened.”

The adult film star filed a lawsuit in LA on Tuesday stating that a non-disclosure agreement between them is invalid because the US President didn't sign it.

White House dismisses claims by the attorney of porn star Stormy Daniels about her alleged involvement with Trump

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims that she is free to publicly discuss her "intimate" relationship with Trump, according to .

Both Daniels and Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen signed the agreement three days before the 2016 presidential election and she received £95,000 ($130,000) not to talk about Trump, the suit says.

The documents, which the lawsuit refers to as a “hush agreement,” includes a blank where Trump is supposed to sign — but he allegedly did not give his signature.

As part of the agreement, Daniels was paid to not disclose any confidential information about Trump, their alleged affair, or his other sexual partners.

The porn actress is also not allowed to share any photos or texts from the brash billionaire.

She claims that Cohen has bullied her into keeping quiet and now she’s fighting back.

The suit reportedly says: "To be clear, the attempts to intimidate Ms. Clifford into silence and ‘shut her up’ in order to ‘protect Mr. Trump’ continue unabated.

“On or about February 27, 2018, Mr. Trump’s attorney Mr. Cohen surreptitiously initiated a bogus arbitration proceeding against Ms Clifford in Los Angeles.”

Daniels is referred to as Peggy Peterson in the paperwork, while Trump is referred to as David Dennison.

An additional side letter agreement redacts the true identity of "DD", but Michael Avenatti - Daniels' lawyer - claims the individual is Trump.

Avenatti confirmed the lawsuit on Tuesday, tweeting a link to the full set of court documents.

It comes after Trump's lawyer Cohen released a statement last month claiming he had not been reimbursed for paying Daniels out of his own pocket.

The statement read: “Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly."

The attorney also denied that the payment, made during the Presidential election in October 2016, violated any campaign finance laws.

After Cohen's statement, Daniels’ manager Gina Rodriguez claimed the agreement was invalid, reports .

She said: "Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story."

The 2016 hush agreement directed that the cash be paid into Stormy's then-attorney's account.

The suit alleges that Cohen has tried to keep the adult actress from talking about the relationship as recently as last week.

Daniels has asked the court to to declare that both the hush agreement and the side agreement "were never formed, and therefore do not exist, because, among other things, Mr. Trump never signed the agreements."

Daniels’ alleged intimate relationship with Trump took place in 2006 and 2007 at locations such as the Beverly Hills Hotel and Lake Tahoe.

The 38-year-old claims that after the alleged hotel room romp the future US President asked her to autograph one of her porn DVDs for him.

The White House has strenuously denied the allegations.
