James Corden, 39, earns £1m in the UK for just eight months’ work
James' accounts show he received a payment of just over £1m in 2016 as well as £900k for over the course of eight months in 2017 - on top of his bumper US salary for hosting the Late Late Show
JAMES Corden enjoyed a secret £1 million UK payday for just eight months work.
It brings his UK earnings for just 20 months to more than £2 million – on top of his multi-million dollar contract to present talk show The Late Late Show in the US.
Accounts for his business Balatro LLP reveal the payment of £960,000 for eight months and just over £1 million the previous year.
The money is channelled from film and TV work not related to the lucrative US contract. It is thought to include his hosting of Sky’s Play To The Whistle.
His deal with CBS to present the chat show which features Carpool Karaoke has catapulted him to a major star in the US.
The 39-year-old has been said to be worth £8 million, but the earnings from Balatro push his wealth over £10 million.
Company documents said: “The principal activity of the limited liability partnership continued to be that of entertainment services.”
Corden, wife Julia, , Max six, Carey, three and baby daughter Charlotte, three months, live in a beachside mansion in Malibu, California.
In February he revealed he had paid for all his family to stay at Christmas and spoke about the possibility of returning to the UK to be nearer to them.
He said: “The money is lovely, but time is the only thing that actually exists.
"It’s the only currency you’re ever dealing with, and all you’ve got is this point right now.
"Time with people, time to do stuff – it’s the only thing that matters.

“With young kids it feels like a really great place to live. But then? I don’t know.
"At some point the phone is going to ring and in that instant we’re going to feel a million miles away from people who might need us. That’s what weighs on my mind.”
The Gavin and Stacey star is set to add to his fortune with the release of the CGI version of Beatrx Potter’s Peter Rabbit, with Corden voicing the lead role.
