BRITAIN'S most notorious lag Charles Bronson is said to have attacked a prison boss after being banned from his own wedding reception.
The violent prisoner is reported to have lunged at the deputy governor at HMP Wakefield and threatened to kill him during his fit of fury.
The attack - which is said to have happened in January - saw Bronson punch, scratch and threaten to kill acting deputy governor Andy Ripley leaving him with cuts and bruises.
The 65-year-old was said to have been restrained by six prison guards during the rampage which is said to have happened days after getting hitched to former Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson.
A source told : "Charlie harbours a grudge like nobody else.
"He went to one of his custody management meetings, which he never usually attends but management were worried he might kick off as they knew he was angry.
"He was only in the room seconds when he went for the deputy governor."
Days later the infamous lag was moved from HMP Wakefield to Frankland prison home Soham killer Ian Huntley and Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe.
Bronson, who now goes by the name Charles Salvador, was said to be fuming that he was banged up while his new bride and guests including Katie Price's ex-husband Alex Reid partied at a hotel.
The 65-year-old - who has spent 41 years behind bars - could face trial and more jail time if convicted for the attack.
The Ministry of Justice confirmed an incident happened at HMP Wakefield earlier this year.
In a statement it said: "An incident occurent at HMP Wakefield on Thursday 25 January. There is a police investigation ongoing so it would be inappropriate to comment further."
A spokesman told The Sun Online: "First aid treatment was given to a member of staff for minor injuries but they were not taken to hospital."
Bronson wed former Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson, 37, last November after falling in love after a string of hand-written letters.
