The flightless bird is typically found in the southern hemisphere and, in the colder climes of Antarctic, manages to stay upright with its side-to-side waddle.

And according to Welsh county council Caerphilly CBC, the bird's walk could keep Brits in step throughout the cold blast.

In a post on Twitter, the council advised: "Take care folks over the next few days and remember Walk Like A Penguin!"

To 'walk like a penguin' Brits should 'extend arms to the side to keep balance, keep your knees loose, and point the feet out slighty.'

The walking guide should keep Britain upright in the coming days as the snow storm is set to continue across the country.

While weather warnings remain in place for the Beast with a further eight inches of snow tonight and tomorrow and up to 15 inches forecast on higher ground and plummeting temperatures, there will be no let up for Britain as Storm Emma surges in from the Atlantic, threatening even more carnage by Thursday evening.

It's expected to leave swathes of southern Britain hit by blizzards and strong wind which is expected to cause snow drifts.

And the effects of Emma are expected to be felt throughout the weekend with the possibility the Met Office will upgrade weather warnings to amber or even red.
