FREEZING temperatures could spark the coldest spell of weather in 27 years as Britain faces a potential life-threatening snow storm.

Babies and the elderly will be particularly vulnerable when "The Beast from the East" hits on Wednesday morning - sending the mercury plunging to a baltic -15c in places.

The cold snap could be deadly for tots - so it's vitally important to make sure they're wrapped up warm before bed.

Thankfully, BabyCentre UK have put together an easy-to-understand infographic which tells parents how to keep their tots safe.

BabyCentre UK editor Joanne Lewsley said: "There's so much conflicting information around dressing your baby for sleep, it's no wonder parents are anxious!"

Joanne adds: "Best of all, it's 100 per cent evidence-based and fully referenced, so parents can rest easy knowing this advice is based on expert research and recommendations.

Happily, BabyCentre have put together a simple and easy-to-understand infographic which has everything parents need to keep their babies comfortable and safe.

Joanne adds: "Best of all, it's 100 per cent evidence-based and fully referenced, so parents can rest easy knowing this advice is based on expert research and recommendations.

"Our infographic also shows how parents can check for signs that their baby may be overheating.

"In fact, the chance of SIDS is higher in babies who get too hot, so knowing which warning signs to look out for, such as a clammy tummy or rapid breathing, will give parents the information they need to make sure their baby is safe and snug."
