The father - who cannot be identified - spoke of his torment at seeing holiday snaps of the beast with his arm around his then-teenage daughter.

He told how his wife met the disgraced youth coach on a family holiday in Spain in 2007.

The 59-year-old dad, who only learned of Bennell's sordid past two years ago, said: “It’s bad enough to lose your wife to another man.

"But when I discovered Bennell’s history I was appalled.

“I would like to ask my ex-wife what she knew about Bennell and when she knew.

"To think my daughter has been near this monster is horrifying.”

The dad had been with his wife for 20 years when they ran into Bennell on a package holiday with their two young kids.

He raged: “He was there, lounging around, boasting about his money and his cars and his big house, how he’d been a football coach in the US.

“He was an old man, he wasn’t even good looking. He had this young lad with him, in his mid 20s, who he said was his carer. He’d carry his bags and drive if they went out.

The dad later realised his wife had visited the monster under the pretence of shopping in London - but she denied cheating.

He later came home to find a note saying: “I’ve gone and I won’t be coming back.”

He added: "“She dropped the kids at school and said ‘something awful is going to happen today, but don’t worry, everything will be all right’.

“She was the perfect mother, but he brainwashed her. My daughter would visit every couple of weeks. Thank God my son didn’t, he wasn’t interested.”

An alleged victim of former football coach Barry Bennell has told a court he had a power hold over young boys who dreamed of becoming professional stars

He said: “That was the first time I knew his real name.

“I called my daughter and asked ‘he’s not done anything to you has he?’ She told me not to be stupid and said he hadn’t, which was a relief.

“He’s worse than Jimmy Savile. I found out my ex was visiting him in prison.

“My main concern is for my daughter and we ended up having a fall out over it. She said ‘he didn’t do it’. We’ve not spoken for over 18 months.

“He has wrecked so many lives and he drove a wedge between me and my daughter.

Now that this case is all over and he’s where he belongs I hope that we will be able to patch things up.”

Vile Bennell, 62, was caged for 31 years last week.
