EERIE footage shows a mysterious fleet of 10 'UFOs' circling in skies above Miami - while baffled witnesses look on below.

In exclusive footage obtained by Sun Online, one of the witnesses can be heard shouting: "What the hell is that?"

Railway worker Daniel Zeljkovich and his co-driver spotted around 9 to 10 white lights in the early hours on Valentine's Day.

Daniel whipped out his camera phone as his co-driver, who is equally baffled, says: "What the f*** is that?"

He tells his "freaked out" colleague to switch off the lights on the truck, again saying: "What the hell?".

Both men can't believe what they are seeing above Miami, in Florida, USA, at around 5am on 14 February.

Daniel, who works for Seminole Gulf Railway in Fort Myers, USA, filmed the UFOs for several seconds before each light disappears one by one.

He said: "I’m not big on UFOs but what me and my co-driver saw on February 14 at 5am in the Miami sky, it’s completely puzzling my mind.

"My co-driver started freaking out and kept saying if he was seeing things and if I saw the same lights in the sky.

"I looked up and sure enough I saw them.

"What we saw was about 9-10 lights in the sky in perfect line formation equal distance apart, then those same lights went straight up and they became a circle.

"Until this point we were still sitting in the truck in complete awe. I had no idea what I was seeing but wanted to record it.

"By the time I got out of the truck and pointed my phone, the circle formation broke up and this is what was recorded."

He added: "From the line they turned into a circle simultaneously like they were one thing (light) orb or whatever. It was very strange."

He posted his footage on the UFO Hunters Facebook page.

But some people do not believe it was an alien invasion and have offered a more down to earth explanation.

Brian DeMatteo said: "I don't know about the circle formation or them actually going upwards, but from the video they look like a military flare drop exercise."

Justin Moss added: "Pretty sure they are just a fleet of drones" while Morgan Winstone said: "Yep skydivers with meteor flares."

Marc D'Antonio, the chief photo and video analyst for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) analysed the video for Sun Online and said that while the footage was "impressive", he suspects there may have been an even simpler explanation.

He believed the lights actually orange - only appearing as white due to the mobile phone camera used to take the footage - and believes one explanation is that they could have been Chinese lanterns.

"I noticed that the objects appeared to dance around in the sky with several of the objects spiraling down and disappearing never to reappear," he said.

"As they spiralled down you could see them shifting slightly leftward and rightward consistent with a spiralling object falling out of the sky.

"My feeling after watching the video a number of times is that it was more than likely a Chinese Lantern launch in celebration of the coming Chinese New Year on Feb 16.

"The movement in the sky is consistent with shore winds buffeting the lanterns, and most important, when buffeted like that, a lantern can accidentally burn its paper envelope and I believe that this is what we are seeing as this spiralling movement we see as the lantern falls back to earth.

"The drop rate is consistent with a lantern that catches fire and with the ignition of the envelope it begins to fall.

"The strange lateral motion looks like a back and forth motion but its more than likely a circular motion as the lanterns are caught in fairly stiff winds.

Marc, who also runs the who also the where he takes viewers on live tours of the night sky, added: "This is what I saw and feel about this video thus far - however I am sure more will surface."

It is not the first time strange UFOs have been filmed over Miami.

In July 2016, airport workers were left scratching their heads after spotting a huge blue cloud floating in the sky over the runway.

However, the UFO was later identified as an Atlas 5 rocket launch from Cape Canaveral.
