A LABRADOR has been dubbed Britain’s luckiest dog after it survived being run over – by FOUR trains.

Both the dog and the deer were hit by an oncoming passenger train – but Poppy survived.

The labrador then lay still in the middle of the tracks as three other trains passed over her – all of which missed her.

Sarah Holmes of Garson Vets said things “looked very dark for Poppy” after she suffered broken ribs but she managed to pulled through.

The vet said: “Her face was extremely swollen, she had a large wound on her back and was in considerable pain.

"But we were amazed that the only broken bones were a couple of ribs."

The pooch was eventually allowed to go home.

Ms Holmes added: “"It's something that her owners never believed would happen.

"She is making good progress but, unsurprisingly, has a degree of discomfort still. Fortunately, she hasn't lost her appetite."
