How can I celebrate in the UK?

London has a parade on Sunday, February 10, 2019, starting at 10am on Charing Cross Road.

But you can also visit Chinatown at any time to see the decorations or sample the food.

Manchester will see a piglet take pride of place in St Ann's Square and a gold dragon take up residence in Exchange Square.

Festivities take place from Feb 7-10, with the dragon parade and fireworks on Sunday.

Year of the Pig celebrations in Liverpool kick off on Friday, February 8, with a focus on the Chinese arch, and there's a weekend of fun in Birmingham.

The New Year festival in Edinburgh will run from 2-17 February - and will be the first in the city.

One of the main draws will be pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang in the zoo.
